The average of a, b and c is 60. If c is as less than the average as b is more than the average. Calculate a, b and c.

SOLUTIONS

Total weight of 35 employees = 35*65 = 2275 kg

Let the weight of new employee be x

Total weight of 36 employees = 2275 + x kg

As per the question

(2275+x)/36 = 66

x = 101 kg

Let the profit to be earned in April be Rs. X

As per the question,

(60,000+50,000+80000+x)/ 4 = 80,000

190000+x = 320000

x = Rs. 1, 30,000

Average time each member of the family spends on the phone =[(10*10) + (6*11)]/ 16

= (100+66)/16

= 166/16

= 10.3 hours

Average of sever observations = 343

Difference between correct and incorrect observation = 80-60 = 20

20 will be divided equally over 7 observations = 2.8

Therefore, new average = 343+2.8 = 345.8

Run scored in first 30 overs = 5*30 = 150 runs

Runs still to make = 300- 150 = 150 runs

Overs left = 20

Average run rate for last 20 overs = 150/20

= 7.5 runs per over

Let salary of Reeta, Meeta and Geeta be x, y and z respectively

As per the question

(x+y+z)/3 = 45000

x+y+z = 135000

Also, it is given that,

x = z and

y = x/2

Therefore,

x + x/2 + x = 135000

2x+ x/2 = 135000

x = Rs. 54000

Salary of Meeta = y = 54000/2 = Rs. 27000

Let the present age of Sunny and Bunty be x years and y years respectively.

As per the question,

[(x-5) + (y-5)]/2 = 32

x+y = 74 years

At present, Sunny is twice the age of Bunty

y = x/2

x +x/2 = 74

x = 49.3 years

Let the marks of the fifth subject be x

As per the question

(300+x)/ 5 = 80

300+x = 400

X = 100

In two weeks,

People who visited food court from Monday to Friday = 200*10 = 2000

People who visited food court on Saturday and Sunday = 325* 4 = 1300

Average number of people who visited the food court in 2 weeks = (2000+1300)/ 14

= 3300/4

=236 persons (approx.)
