ANSWERS WITH EXPLANATION
Let the property to A, B, C and D be 4x, x, 3x and 2x.
4x + x+3x+ 2x = 35 lakh
10x = 35 lakh
x = 3.5 lakh
Property to B = x = Rs. 3.5 lakh
Property to C = 3x = 3 * 3.5 = Rs. 10.5 lakh
Equal amount to B and C = (3.5+ 10.5)/2 = 7 lakh
Therefore, B must be given 3.5 lakh more.
Speed of train B = 500/12 = 41.6 km/h
Required time = 1000/ 41.6 = 24 hours (approx.)
Let the two numbers be 7x and 11 x respectively.
7x = (11x/3) + 90
x = 27
Smaller number = 7x = 189
Greater number = 11x = 297
Let the number of female scholars and male scholars be 2x and 9x respectively.
As per the question,
2x+9x = 220
11x = 220
x = 220/11 = 20
No. of female scholars = 2x = 40
No. of male scholars = 9x = 180
Required Difference = 180-40 = 140
Let the area of fie;d owned by X and Y be 3x and 7x respectively.
3x + 7x = 40 acre
10x = 40
X = 4 Acre
Land owned by X = 3x = 12 Acre
Land owned by Y = 7x = 28 Acre
Money Received by X = 60000* 12 = Rs. 720000
Money recieed by Y = 45000* 28 = Rs. 1260000
Total money = Rs. 1980000
Let the no. of Gold, Silver, and bronze coins be 4x, 9x and 15 x respectively.
As per the question,
4x (1000)+ 9x(500) + 15x( 100) = 70000
4000x+ 4500x + 1500x = 70000
10000x = 70000
x = 7
No. of silver coins = 9x = 9*7 = 63
7 dozen = 7* 12 = 84 bananas
Price of 25 bananas = (2800/84) * 25
= Rs. 833.33
Let the water and other contents in x and 4x respectively
x+ 4x = 2
5x = 2
X = 2/5 = 0.4 L
Other content in 1 L = 0.4/2 = 0.2 L
Other content in 50 L = 0.2 * 50 = 10 L
Let the prices of the Current Affair Magazine X and Y be 5x and 2x respectively.
5x/ (2x+75) = 10:7
35x = 20x + 750
x = 50
Therefore, Price of magazine X = 5x = 5* 50 = Rs. 250
