  • Avenue​​ Supermarts​​ founder Radhakishan Damani has become the second most richest in India, behind Reliance​​ Industries'​​ Mukesh Ambani ($57.4 billion).

  • According to country-wise data, India ranked fifth in the world's most polluted countries with Bangladesh on top of the list followed by Pakistan, Mongolia and Afghanistan.

  • India has topped the TomTom Traffic Index 2019 with 4 of its cities amongst the 10 most congested cities globally.

  • Telangana has emerged as the best performing state in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth and decent work for all on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index 2019, according to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) India.

  • Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) secured the third rank in the global list of Top Business Schools of 2020 by MOOCLab.

Sports

  • Sachin Tendulkar has been shortlisted as one among five contenders for the greatest Laureus Sporting Moment 2000-2020 Award.

  • Ravindra Jadeja climbed three rungs to grab the seventh position. Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi emerged as the new world number one all-rounder. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal jumped to the 13th spot.

  • Jasprit Bumrah lost the top spot and was placed at the second position in bowling chart. His place has been taken over by Kiwi pacer Trent Boult. Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav slipped to the 16th place.

  • The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has received the "Grassroots Charter Bronze Level" membership of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

  • Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju launched an event in New Delhi to unveil the five host cities for the FIFA Under17 Women's Football World Cup which kicks off on2nd of November 2020.

  • In Chess, India's 13-year old Grandmaster D Gukesh emerged champion in the 34th Cannes Open in France.

  • Former BCCI president late Jagmohan Dalmiya's son Avishek became the youngest president of Cricket Association Bengal after being elected unopposed. Avishek, 38, was holding the post of joint secretary before his elevation.

  • Wrestler Vinesh Phogat, Shuttler P.V. Sindhu and Boxer M.C. Mary Kom will compete for the inaugural BBC Indian sportswoman of the year award after being nominated for the honour.

  • RBI’s 6th Bi-monthly Monetary Policy 2019-20 released: RBI keeps repo rate unchanged at 5.15%

  • Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has decided to permit the use of regulatory sandbox, a system that will allow live testing of new products, services and business models by market players on select customers. The decision was taken at SEBI’s board meeting held in Mumbai.

  • Facebook launched its 'We Think Digital' programme, under which the social media giant will provide digital literacy training to 1 lakh women across seven states, including Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar.

  • Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Nepal (BBIN) deliberated upon a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of Motor Vehicles Agreement (MVA) for the regulation of passengers, personal and cargo vehicular traffic among the four countries.

  • India and Norway signed a total of four memorandum of understanding (MoUs) in the field of research and higher education.

  • United States President Donald Trump will be coming to India later this month on a two-day visit. This would be Trump's maiden trip to India as the President of the United States.

  • It stated that the department is expanding military-to-military cooperation and improving interoperability with India, including establishment of a new tri-service amphibious exercise TIGER TRIUMPH. Mr Trump's predecessor Barack Obama had travelled to India twice, in 2010 and 2015.
