Army Institute of Law Applications Open: Check Exam Dates, Eligibility, Pattern

The Army Institute of Law, Mohali is one of the best law schools of the country. This Institute was established by the Indian Army in 1999 under the Army Welfare Education Society. The institution offers a five-year B.A. LL.B. Program and a one-year LLM program with a specialisation in Criminal law or Family law.

What is the last date for filling the application form of AIL LET 2022?

This institute takes in students through the AIL Law Entrance Test or the AIL LET. The application form for this exam had been released on the 1st of April, 2022. The last date for filling the same is 10th May, 2022. Upon paying a late fee, the form can be filled till the 16th of May, 2022. 

The registration fee for this exam is Rs. 3000, with an additional Rs. 1000 charged for late applications. Please find the link for filling the application form here. There are a total of 100 seats in this B.A. LL.B. Programme, with 75 of these being reserved for wards of army personnel, 20 reserved for the civil category residents of Punjab, and 5 for the All-India civil categories. 

When will the AIL LET 2022 exam be held?

The AIL LET 2022 is scheduled to be held on 25th June, 2022 from 9 AM to 11 AM. The results will tentatively be out on the 7th of July, 2022. 

What will be the mode of this AIL LET 2022?

AIL LET 2022 will be an Online Computer-Based Test, and will be held across 50 exam centres throughout India. Candidates will have to choose their preferred centre at the time of filling the application form. 

What is the eligibility criteria for AIL LET 2022?

A candidate who has passed the 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks would be eligible to appear for this exam.

Candidates who have completed 10+2 through the Open University system directly without having any basic qualifications for pursuing such studies, and candidates who have passed 10+2 in compartments, are not eligible for this exam.

What is the pattern of AIL LET exam?

  • The Army Institute of Law exam 2022 will be a two-hour exam, with a total of 200 questions, each carrying one mark. There will be no negative marking.
  • The exam will be online and MCQ-based.
  • There will be four sections in total, with 50 questions each. These sections will be Mental Ability, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Law Aptitude and General English.
  • There is no fixed syllabus for this exam. Most of it will be based on the general pattern of Law Entrance Exams. 

Syllabus of AIL LET Exam

  • In the General English section, topics like Reading Comprehension, Synonyms and Antonyms, Grammar-based questions, etc could be asked.
  • For Mental Ability, brush up on Analytical Reasoning and Critical Reasoning topics like Blood Relations, Directions, Strengthening-Weakening arguments, etc.
  • Law or Legal Aptitude could cover questions like Principle-Fact based scenarios, Legal GK, basic legal facts, etc. GK and Current Affairs would cover topics of contemporary and static significance, like major international and national developments in the fields of sports, economics, politics, geography, etc.

General Tips for AIL LET Exam

Since there is no negative marking, it is advised that candidates try to attempt as many questions as they can. Even if they are unsure about some of the answers, an educated guess can help them to score more.

The candidates appearing for this exam should practise as much as they can, create a time-table and stick to it, solve mocks and previous years question papers, read newspapers to keep up with the major Current Affairs topics, etc.
